I hope you feel better soon. I've had a lingering cold for what feels like ages. I'm so glad I found you here. I used to read your blog for years and then Substack all of a sudden recommended me to you and I could not believe my eyes. Happy Holidays!
Thank you, Despina! I hope you feel better soon also. The lingering nature of colds is so annoying, isn't it. Everyone seems to be suffering much worse than usual this winter. How wonderful to have you back reading again - I'm so glad substack connected us!
I had laryngitis once, it's miserable, a homeopathic remedy cleared it up quickly. Cannot remember which remedy it was, a homeopath can advise. They did have a helpline during covid, not sure if it is still going.
Sorry to hear you've been ill, Rachel. You'll eventually find that retirement gives a real boost to the immune system - but apart from that it's not all it's cracked up to be!
You'd love this, Mary! Thank you - retirement does sound rather like bliss at the moment. But apparently not!! Though your life always looks glorious from my perspective!

I hope you feel better soon, certainly soon enough to enjoy school vacation and holidays. This novel sounds like a good one
For Simon’s British Library series.
Thanks very much Susan. Yes, it does, doesn't it? I will make Simon read it :)

I love my homeopathic remedies, Avis! I'll do some research!
Oh horrible school germs! It's been an especially bad term for them, and I completely understand where you're coming from.
I once spent a summer near St Etienne. It's unusual to find anything written about the place so this sounds like a particularly lovely book.
Get well soon. It's not long till the holidays...
Hasn't it? I keep saying to my kids I feel like I'm teaching in a hospital ward at the moment! Thank you - yes, one and a half weeks to go!!
I do love spinster-lit!
